hello,
i thought id open aa thread to do with writing and how you prefer to write.
I am a writer, I am currently writing a set of books. I also write short stories and have many all filed away, but what i am mostly known by doing, from my friends and family, is poetry, I love to use my poetry to express my emotions, and my a few of my poems can be found at http://www.poetry.com/ and enter my name Charmaine Colley. If you would like to see anymore poems or read my favorite short story, just ask.
how do you like writing? and if you would, please can you share some of it with us?

love Charmaine xXx

I used to write in my spare time, mostly poetry (one of which can be seen on poetry.com by searching for poems by Elizabeth Kilcrease, as the only one I was remotely proud of). I also attempted original fiction, but was ashamed of how poor I found it to be in comparison with writers I admire. I haven't really touched a notebook to creatively write in in over a year though; I should try again sometime.

... supposedly, AP English is going to make me write poetry though. Ick, being told to write creatively on a topic there's a 50% chance I won't care about. x.x

I write, but I don't share it. You all may or may not know in the event that I get published, but that would mean that I atually finish something. It's not going to be the next harry potter or anything though.

I write constantly. I've kept journals since I was about 7 (hopefully I'll make something of myself and be able to publish them) and I've written quite a few short stories. I love writing children's fiction, I love anything that could even come close to being allegorical. I think it's the perfect medium, the perfect way to get someone to think about an issue. I don't have the attention span to write lengthy stories. I've tried my hand at poetry, one that I cowrote with a friend actually got published (a local magazine found it interesting.)
I write lyrics at random, and I perform at open mike nights down at the local cafes with a friend that plays piano much better than I do. We're two sopranos, which makes it interesting when we're both singing (occasionally I'll play a cheap plastic recorder.) We're broke and creative, what can I say?
I'm working with another friend (funny how everything turns into a collaboration) on illustrating the short tale of the maiden and the dragon. I'd really like to have a book out... and be able to say that I've done something with myself other than dream.

I have tons of poems on Poetry.com, at least a dozen or so, I haven't written any new ones lately but I usually write short stories or potential novels. My problem with that is that I tend to start and not finish them. My friends can vouche for that unfortunately, lol. I've had this story in my head since the 7th grade called Etymyst, and I have yet been able to write it out the way I want it. I have it in my head perfectly clear, but my head and hand don't always cooperate when I put it in words *scowls*.

The hands can't keep up with the mind- the day someone invents a way to write thoughts without ever touching pen to paper or finger to key will be the happiest day of my life.
