As many of you may know by now, Chris Rankin plays Percy Weasley, one of the ever-so-adorable Weasleys. I had a chance to do a mini-interview with him as a special feature for this site. Sorry there aren't many questions about the movie, but he isn't allowed to give anything out, and I thought that we should all respect that. :)
How did you get started with acting?
I got into acting when I was about 11, through Dereham Operatic Society Youth Theatre Company (DOSYTCo). The school I went to was also very much into drama, we did lots of musicals. With the help of Matthew Piper, the worlds best ex-drama teacher, I became more confident.
If you've read the whole series, which is your favourite book, and why?
I have read all of the books (and had done before I got the part). My favourite is book two, I don't really know why, I could read it over and over again. I think it is because of the twist at the end...
How was it like working with a whole bunch of people, with the extreme range of age?
It is really good fun working with different ages. Having spent the last 6 years with a youth theatre, I find it very easy to work with and get on with younger children, which I have found has helped enormously. The older members of the cast are in general a really nice bunch of people. As I mentioned a few names above, I'll keeping the dropping for a later date, but, as a whole they a great people.
Lastly, how does it feel knowing you have fans out there who adore you? :)
FANS? I have fans? Ummm, well it is very strange, to have gone from being a nobody to being a nobody who a few people might have heard of... I'm sort of looking forward to November when I can finally see what it is like to be known... A message to my fans, you are all totally mad, but I forgive you!!
