Bio & CV
Chris Rankin was born on 8th November 1983 in Auckland, New Zealand, where he lived with his parents until he was 6 years old. They then moved back to Chris’ now native England. The same year he also played Edmund in “The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe”. Over the next 10 years, Chris continued to work with Northgate High School and Dereham Operatic Society Youth Theatre Company on their musicals and plays. In August 2000, he auditioned for and landed the role of Percy Weasley in the “Harry Potter: movie series, which was the beginning of his professional on-camera acting career. He appears in “Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s (Sorcerer’s) Stone”, “Chamber of Secrets”, “Prisoner of Azkaban”, and this summer’s upcoming “Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix”.
On television, Chris played Waring in the BBC adaptation of Jonathan Coe’s “The Rotter’s Club”, for FIVE and Empire Media; Henry Evelyn Wood in “Victoria Cross Heroes”, and has appeared on a number of TV shows as himself, including Hell’s Kitchen, Smile, SM:TV, CD:UK, Blue Peter, Newsround and Ministry of Mayhem.
